Do you need a Certificate of Competence for animal transportation?

calf
Funding Available for Animal Transportation Certificates

Commoners, farmers and woodland managers in the New Forest who take their Certificates of Competence for animal transportation before December 31st 2007, and meet the scheme eligibility criteria, can now apply for grants from the LEADER+ Training Grant Scheme.

As from January 5th 2008, these certificates will be necessary for everyone transporting animals commercially for distances over 65 km. LEADER+ can fund up to 60% of the cost of the training & assessment

The LEADER+ Training Grant is an easy to access scheme to help individuals and businesses who derive a direct income from the Forest or its produce, to pay for training to help them improve the skills needed for their job or business.
